Zinc Plating
Zinc Plating is a relatively low cost attractive protective finish. Zinc plating is a sacrificial protection mechanism because it is anodic to steel in galvanic activity. Zinc plating is typically used for screws and other small fasteners, light switch plates, crank handles, springs and various small parts that will be exposed in interior or mildly corrosive conditions.
Along with zinc plating, we offer chromate and color dye. Chromates applied over zinc or cadmium plated deposits provide added corrosion protection and slow the rate of zinc oxidation, as well as provide an excellent base for the absorption of colored dyes.
